Story Notes: This issue returned Spiderman to his Black Venom costume. The story focuses on the homeless population of New York and Morbius, the Vampire. The cover pays homage to McFarlane’s own Spiderman # 01 on the 1 year anniversary of the series.
This Spiderman series was originally fashioned after DC’s successful Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight series which focused on longer multipart stories. McFarlanes work on this series was a direct precursor to his Spawn comic book, which focused on darker stories.
