About: Batman # 497 was first published in both “Collector’s Edition” (with Black half-jacket cover) and in a much limited release as a “Newsstand Edition” (without the black jacket). The “Newsstand Edition” is distinguished with the date “July 13, 1993” in the UPC box.

Story Notes: This is the 11th part of the 19 part Knightfall storyline, which saw Batman crippled by the villain Bane and replaced by the anti-hero, Azrael. This issue is the climax of the story where a tired run, down Bruce Wayne fights Bane in the Batcave and has his spine shattered beyond repair.

Signature Notes: Detective Comics # 664 has been signed by the entire creative team; Graham Nolan (Artist), Scott Hanna (Inker), Chuck Dixon (Writer) .

The comic is numbered 612/9000 Limited Edition and was offered by Catch A Star Inc. through the QVC network in the 1990’s. The comic comes with its original Certificate Of Authenticity COA.

Batman: Vengeance of Bane II # 1 SIGNED by Glenn Fabry

This comic is signed by Glenn Fabry (cover artist).

 

Bane returns to Gotham after his years in jail after his defeat at the hands of the second Batman (Azrael) during the KnightFall storyline.

 

Here, we see a fat and slow Bane beat his addiction to the Venom serum and rehabilitate himself. He hatches a plan to return to Gotham and challenge the original Batman for the first time since crippling him.

 

The signature was obtained by a Brooklyn Comic Shop representative at Wizard World Philadelphia 2016.

 

Brooklyn Comic Shop witnessed signature. Comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity (C.O.A).

This is the final part of the 19 part Knightfall storyline, which saw Batman crippled by the villain Bane and replaced by the anti-hero, Azrael. This issue features Azrael’s new Batman costume (known as Az-Bats). The Knightfall storyline saw a tired run, down Bruce Wayne crippled by Bane, and in turn the more violent Azrael defeating Bane and emerging as the new Batman.
