Blue Ribbon # 5 features an original cover by Jack Kirby of the superhero, Shield. The comic reprints Kirby and Simon’s The Double Life of Private Strong # 1 (1959)

Champions # 1 SIGNED by Gil Kane

This comic is signed by legendary artist Gil Kane.

 

The issue features the first appearance of the Champions team, which featured Hercules, Ghost Rider, Black Widow, Angel and Iceman. This issue also debuts Angel’s new costume.

 

The Champions team consisted of former Avengers and X-Men characters, and served as an introduction of Ghost Rider to readers of the more traditional superhero titles.

This issue features the Death of Thanos and the conclusion of Jim Starlin's original Thanos saga. The Thing and Spiderman join the Avengers and Captain Marvel in the battle against Thanos.This comic is signed in black Sharpie by Jim Starlin (Artist/Writer, Creator of Thanos) and Joe Rubinstein (Inker). All signatures were obtained by a Brooklyn Comic Shop representative at the Baltimore Comic Con 2014.
